Second Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) in Post-Study Workstream Announced for TGV holders

An additional year or two of post-study work rights to the Temporary Graduate visa (TGV) in post-study work stream has been announced by the Department of Home Affairs in an effort to encourage international students to study, live, or work in regional areas boosting diversity and economy in regional Australia.

International students with TGV (post-study workstream) are eligible to apply for the TGV extension if they have graduated from a regional educational institution and have lived for at least two years in regional Australia on their first TGV.

Starting 21 Jan 2021, holders of Temporary Graduate visa (post-study workstream) who satisfies the specific regional requirements will have the opportunity to apply for a second TGV.

It will be a requirement for eligible applicants of the second Temporary Graduate visa to maintain ongoing residence in designated regional areas.
